Wow, I haven't made one of these in a while...

We are all very aware of the Irken's Squeadly-spooch: A large organ that takes up a large portion of the abdomen. But what does it do? I theorize that The squeadly-spooch acts as a second heart, pumping blood and echoing the original heartbeat, but in reality it's main function is that of a stomach. Though it mainly digests food for appropriate life substantial matters, it mimics a heart, so there is almost twice as much oxygen supplied almost twice as fast, sucking the nutrients directly from food intake and increasing the body's main energy source. Stamina, and strength are increased massively and far surpass that of a single blood transferring organ species, but so does their metabolism. As the extra energy boosts, so does the energy burn up faster; which means that the body needs to create more energy. Thus the snacking. The average Irken has up to 6 meals a day, but in smaller portions than 'Merica's plate. They often intake small fatty snacks and sugary foods to boost their metabolism, as they can grow tired throughout the day if not eating properly. Their food intake isn't strictly junk food though. Irkens are balanced omnivores and their meals often pertain to all the main food groups, but they prefer high protein and refined sugars to get the energy boost that they need. They're bodies are naturally hardier than most species of the same size. Though they can have a great boost in energy, they prefer to reserve it as they grow tired faster as well. Irkens are also capable of over oxidizing, but that is usually played with panic, or unbelievable pain  and are apt to starving to death faster than normal species. There have been records of Irkens loosing their hearts to disease and living with their spooch alone, but usually not for very long with several problems to go with it. Now due to modern technology, they can replace a heart with a synthetic one so they don't have to rely only on their spooch to function. Several other organs help the squeadly-spooch with digestion as well. Intestines, of all sorts are laced the Irken abdomen, a chain of small pancreas-like glands or 'mini organs' work for enzymes to actually break food down so that it can be absorbed into the body, another chain of glands work as both a liver and a gal-bladder push the bile out pocket by pocket (much like a colon) and any part of it can be removed and re-attached because they are separate organs with the same function, small intestines, and lastly a colon.

So this explains why Irkens can't take human food?
