Other Stranges Like Me

Yes, that's a Tarzan reference.

Meet Ako, another character that I seemingly would never use.

Which, believe it or not, I've used several characters more than once for several different things, but I can't upload them at the time because it's either unfinished work, or chronologically inappropriate.  

Although I've often described my indigenous original species as an intelligent and sophisticated tribal race, it doesn't exactly depict the species on a global scale. 

Ako was born and raised in a tribe that was more or less considered a pack. This tribe was brutal, harsh and incredibly primitive, as these people walked on all fours, ate raw flesh, and had no means of verbal communication. Although this tribe is set pretty far back, with neanderthal-like mindset, they are every bit as genetically developed as tribes that poses fire, language and clothes. A long time ago, their ancestors settled down in a large gorge, as others continued their journey south. Because of the terrain, they were cut off from communication with outsiders, thus stayed in their basic forms. 

This nameless group is highly aggressive and only care about the bare-basics of animal life. The only major difference between them and surrounding tribes is their staggering size, which if they were to stand on two legs, could easily stand at 7 feet tall, rather than the average 6'5-6'10 and weigh up to 310 pounds. Only the larger ones can survive the harsh climates and even harsher people. 

Ako, like many children in his tribe, was raised by his non-verbal mother until he was capable of walking. When she gave birth to a second cub, she drove him off around age 6, leaving him to fend for himself. Often he would beg for scraps from some of the females, but mainly live off of small lizards and bird's eggs. At the age of thirteen, he was brutally raped by several teenagers and left for dead. Rialou found him, fended off the teens and took him to Via to aid the boy's wounds.After escaping into the woods, he decided to tag along with three up-walking strangers in hopes that they would throw scraps at him and protect him. As he ventured nearer and nearer to their camp, he was eventually welcomed on a cautions level and picked up on useful words. The strangers, Via, Taido and Rialou decided on giving him a name: Ako, meaning 'Four Legged One' and taught him their ways. After a while he was accepted into their small family and treated as one of them. And with determination, he learned how to walk and talk like them gladly.
